A commitment to improving global healthcare and our community

The choices we make every day affect the quality of patient care around the world. At Karos, we choose to impact local healthcare initiatives that impact our families, friends, and our neighbours but we also reach farther afield, participating in initiatives that impact healthcare in developing countries.

In fact, the name “Karos” is derived from the Latin term “caritas” which means “charitable”. Our company name reflects our desire to give back to our communities, on both a local and global scale. This commitment to social responsibility is core to our beliefs, our values and to how we conduct business. We are passionate about improving the quality of patient care and are driven by a deep desire to leverage our unique skills and talents to make a difference in healthcare.

Keeping it local

Given our healthcare backgrounds, members of the Karos team feel a sense of responsibility and a desire to help others in our community. That’s why our team members participate on healthcare advisory boards and support healthcare initiatives, giving their valuable time to events, organizations, or practices that are working to improve patient care.

Taking it global

That’s also why we cooperate with other organizations who are improving the world’s healthcare. For example, the Tula Foundation is a privately endowed family foundation that seeks to improve health and equity in low income countries such as Guatemala. Karos collaborates with these organizations to share knowledge, technology and expertise.

Our commitment

The UN Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative that guides businesses to align operations and strategies in ways that benefit economies and communities everywhere. Karos Health is committed to adhering to the Global Compact’s 10 guiding principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. Karos is proud to be one of more than 5,500 businesses and stakeholders participating in this initiative, aligned in a global effort to build a more sustainable and inclusive global economy.
