Karos Health (www.karoshealth.com) introduces Rialto Consult, a product developed in close collaboration with NightWatch teleradiology service, part of the Division of Emergency Radiology in the Department of Radiology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Rialto Consult will be demonstrated at this year’s RSNA 2010 in Chicago at the Karos Booth 7347 in the North Building – Hall B.

Rialto Consult creates an exchange network to improve electronic ordering and results distribution of diagnostic imaging tests between client hospitals, imaging centers and your radiology reading service. Rialto Consult provides a electronic round-trip between a radiology reading service and client institutions.

  • Supports secure transmission of images and orders from client institutions to the radiology reading service
  • Captures orders and allows client institutions to add notes and other related information, such as scanned documents
  • Provides radiologists at the reading service with immediate access to orders, prior imaging results and clinical information, improving turnaround time and reading outcomes
  • Keeps physicians updated about the status of their orders
  • Distributes results and makes them accessible directly within the client’s EMR, RIS or PACS

Rialto Consult is a ready-made solution built on the Rialto clinical information exchange platform, enabling you to grow your radiology reading service through the use of your existing RIS/PACS infrastructure. Rialto Consult leverages all the standards-based services available in the Rialto platform.

  • Implements the IHE Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS.b) and IHE Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing for Imaging (XDS-I.b) Integration Profiles and includes many actors of the Rialto platform, among others, the Document Registry, Document Repository, Document Source, Imaging Document Source, Document Consumer, Imaging Document Consumer and Patient Identifier Cross-Reference Manager (PIXV2/PIXV3)
  • Ensures that only authorized users can access clinical information and provides complete audit trails in compliance with HIPAA regulation
  • Integrates with your existing infrastructure, RIS and PACS
  • Provides Single Sign On (SSO) when embedded it into existing clinical information systems via web services, augmenting the ability of those systems to display orders, status and clinical information
  • Completely web-based, allowing participants access to orders and results from their preferred device
  • Promotes collaboration and keeps all participants in the order process up-to-date on order status and results availability through email and other alerts
